Join the OCID team for a 2-part webinar series on OCID’s latest research using cross-program data to explore the experiences of Oregon children enrolled in Medicaid/CHIP who face complex health and social challenges during early childhood.
During the series, we will provide insights into the care journeys of children which chronic medical conditions, and we will highlight opportunities to strengthen the integration of services.
Each session will begin with an overview from a new OCID descriptive analysis of the prevalence of chronic health conditions and complex social and environmental experiences among a cohort of Medicaid-enrolled children between ages 0 to 5.
Webinar 1: Health Care Services and Early Educational Outcomes

In this first session, we will present findings on our cohort’s use of various health care services during early childhood and examine their subsequent early educational experiences and outcomes from kindergarten through 3rd grade. We will highlight relevant policy options and questions raised by the findings and engage in group discussions.
Webinar 2: Early Support Programs, Disability Services, and Early Educational Outcomes

Time: 11:30am – 1:00pm
The second session will continue by focusing on the cohort’s enrollment in early childhood support programs and early disability services. We will explore the transition from early disability programs to school-based special education services, as well as early educational outcomes through 3rd grade. Similar to Webinar 1, we will highlight relevant policy options and questions raised by the findings and engage in group discussions.
